Country Fair

The country inspired fair, with heavy horses and live sheep show amongst many other activities. Not only this but it has it's very own arena full of country inspired entertainment!


What’s happening at the Country Fair?

Bringing the heritage of the British countryside to the South Glos Show Showground. This year sees the return of the Country inspired fair, with the Wye Valley Axe Men and live sheep show amongst many other activities there is lots of excitement in store for the 2018 Show.

Wye Valley Axe Men

The 2018 Country Arena welcomes new guests, the Wye Valley Axe Men. Since forming in 2007, the Wye Valley Axe Men have been giving crowd pleasing displays across mid Wales and the boarders. They’ll be joining us this August to provide SGS guests with a skilled display filled with razor sharp axes and saws, bringing to life the lumberjack techniques of the past.

The JD Pipes Sheep Show

This fun and educational addition to our Country Fair, allows our visitors to get a closer look at one of our favourite farm animals. The presenters of our Sheep Show sponsored by JD Pipes will educate and entertain with their baa-eautiful herd of sheep. From how they sheer the sheep to how they look after them on a daily basis, they will be answering everything you needed to know!


A very popular attraction every year at the South Glos Show, this year our Farrier entertained our visitors within the Country Fair. With displays of their incredible skill of creating the beautifully classic horse show.

Heavy Horses

Whether you’re a horse or general animal lover, this is a great addition to the South Glos Show. The Heavy Horses, who are one of the tallest breed of horse, will be on site for all to appreciate their beauty.


315A very short walk from the Showground is our Shooting area. Trained instructors from Shooting School UK will be on hand to guide and advise if you wish to enter our shooting competition. Visitors are welcome to take part in our ‘have a go’ section, available for all abilities.
