Brand New Nominated Charity for SGS 2016

We are so excited that this year Gloucestershire-based Meningitis Now have been selected as the nominated charity for this year’s South Gloucestershire Show. charity

Meningitis Now, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, will have an awareness stand at the show to speak to our visitors about Meningitis.

This year we are embracing the work that Meningitis Now do and creating as much opportunity to raise as much money as possible for them.

“We’re thrilled to have been selected as nominated charity at this fantastic event and look forward to a really good weekend” said Liz Brown, Meningitis Now Chief Executive. “Events like this, as well as being wonderful fundraising opportunities, are also valuable ways to spread awareness about the disease and make sure people know the signs and symptoms and how to look out for themselves and their loved ones.”

20 Tonne Sand Sculpture!

This year will see a 20 tonne sand sculpture, sponsored by B & A Group, all in aid of Meningitis Now. ‘What happens to the sculpture after the weekend?’ We here you say, well one lucky visitor will get to smash it up if they win our Demolition Raffle.

2014/15 saw the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) hold the nomination which they officially handed to Meningitis Now for 2016.

“We have enjoyed being the charity for the South Glos Show. It has really helped us, not just to raise money but also awareness, which is vitally important to ensuring we can continue to save lives. We wish Meningitis Now every success, and are sure that they will enjoy it just as much as we have.” Laura Durrant, PR and Media Officer – GWAAC

The Meningitis Now team will also be on hand collecting donations all going towards a fantastic cause and we can’t wait to see them there.
