Brand NEW Nominated Charity for SGS18

We are excited to announce that Bristol-based charity Jessie May have been selected as the Nominated Charity for the South Glos Show 2018.

Celebrating our 5th anniversary this year, the Show is bursting with newness including a BRAND NEW charity that will join us for this fantastic celebration. With a sand sculpture demolition, the all time favourite Ham National, celebrity guests and an amazing total of over £13,000 raised, the past two years with Meningitis Now have been exceptional and we are now excited to see what 2018 has to offer.

Jessie May was founded in 1996 and has since been providing terminally ill children in South Gloucestershire, Bristol, Bath, North East Somerset, North Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire with specialised nursing in their own homes.

As part of the extensive service Jessie May offers, the nurses take the children on fun days out, they host respite days for the children and their families, offer support to children that have been admitted to hospital and allow the parents to have some time to themselves or with other family members. This year we will be doing our utmost to raise money to benefit these amazing services in hope to help more families in the future.

Sarah Williams , Event Organiser of the South Gloucestershire Show, said “It’s been great to work with Meningitis Now for the past two years. We’re looking forward to a new chapter with the South Glos Show as we go into the run up of our fifth Show. The work Jessie May do is vital for so many in the local area and we hope to raise as much as possible for this fantastic charity.”

Jessie May will also have a stand at this year’s Show and will be raising awareness of the charity, accepting charitable donations with lots of fun activities for the public to get involved with.

So be sure to join us this year and help us raise as much as possible for this amazing charity, allowing for more happy days for those in the charity’s care.
