The 2018 Country Arena welcomed new guests, the Wye Valley Axe Men. Since forming in 2007, the Wye Valley Axe Men have been giving crowd pleasing displays across mid Wales and the boarders. They’ll be joining us last August to provide SGS guests with a skilled display filled with razor sharp axes and saws, bringing to life the lumberjack techniques of the past.
This fun and educational addition to our Country Fair, allowed our visitors to get a closer look at one of our favourite farm animals. The presenters of our Sheep Show sponsored by JD Pipes educated and entertained with their baa-eautiful herd of sheep. From how they sheer the sheep to how they look after them on a daily basis, they answered everything you needed to know!
Getting all of our visitors four legged friends involved, this dog show was one not to be missed. The show allowed our guests to sign up on the day at the South Glos Strays stand and some even walked away with a trophy! Categories included were; ‘Prettiest Girl at the Show’, ‘Handsomest boy at the Show’ and ‘Best rescue dog at the Show’
A very popular attraction every year at the South Glos Show, this year our Farrier entertained our visitors within the Country Fair. With displays of their incredible skill of creating the beautifully classic horse show.
Whether you’re a horse or general animal lover, this is a great addition to the South Glos Show. The Heavy Horses, who are one of the tallest breed of horse, were on site for all to appreciate their beauty.
Trained instructors from Shooting School UK were on hand to guide and visitors were welcome to take part in our ‘have a go’ section, available for all abilities.
